Three Questions

Former national champion football coach, current ESPN broadcaster, and motivational speaker, Lou Holtz, suggests three subconscious quesions people ask about us:

 1. Do you care about me?

2. Can I trust you?

3. Are you committed to excellence?

For us to answer affirmatively to these three questions we must:

1. Treat others to way you would like to be treated.

2. Do what's right

3. Do the best we can in all our endeavors.

A Gentle Whisper

Through scriptural study, meditation, and prayer we become aware of the still, soft voice within. This gentle whisper heard in the quietness of a humbled heart awakens us to those experiences that enrich the soul.
The Almighty God revealed through the Holy Spirit his divinity to those who wrote down his message in the context of their own cultural, historical, and personal experiences. They used their own style, language, and minds to write what God inspired them to write.
Because the entire Holy Bible is God's inspired word we can use it to guide our lives. Useful in teaching and correcting us, the Bible is the standard for synthesising all  knowledge.
The Tree of Knowledge
All of us would do well to set aside time everyday to read God's holy word so that we can live a life of courage and confidence.
If you seldom read the Bible it might be helpful to begin with the Gospel of John in the New Testament. This spiritually inspired scroll will gently whisper the mystical, majestic message of God's love for us all.

Act "As If" Until You Succeed

Nothing leads to success more than action.

Act as if you are successful.
Succeed by taking little baby steps toward success.
Each successful attempt teaches us how to improve.

Your optimism soars every time you refine what you learn.

Fly to the Postive

Imagine getting on an airplane that contains the wrong program. Would you fly on that plane? Of course not. The program determines the plane's altitude, speed, course, and destination. An airplane with the wrong program will crash. Get on the right course. Speak positive words that guide you to success.

1.  Learn to see something positive in everything that happens.

2.  Speak hopeful words.

3.  Never miss an opportunity to praise others.

4.  Find and speak the good in every situation.

5.  Show appreciation at every opportunity.

6. Encourage the timid.

7.  Fortify the weak.

Positive speech brings powerful angels to your aid that guide you to help others.

Emotion Is Created by Motion

If the way you move determines the way you feel, and it does, then you might want to try some of these techniques.

1.  Smile--smiling causes all those facial muscles to crinkle upward that cuts off the circulation in the carotid artery a little bit, that stimulates the hypothalamus, that, in turn, impacts the  prefrontal cortex that causes endorphins to be released. The neurochemical pathways are a little more complicated than that; nevertheless force those lips into an upward position until those endorphins flood your brain. You'll be invigorated. Guaranteed.

2.  Laugh--out loud.  We all need about 18 belly laughs and day…and if you play golf with me you will have at least 18.

3.  Snap your fingers--it boosts your enthusiasm…and causes those dice to roll just right.

4.  Pump your fist…and that putt falls every time

5.  Stand erect…just like you mama said and your droopy mood becomes upbeat.
6.  Square those shoulders soldier and you become bold, brave, unbeatable.

7.  Walk briskly--a cheerful step gives confidence

8.  Talk fast and with inflection--rapid talking increases energy. You can actually energize an entire room when you speak with cadence, tempo, and rhythm.
9.  Wave you arms around to animate your speech.

10.  Look up and you'll feel emboldened.

Robust Living

Studies at Duke University’s Center of Aging and Human Development have clearly shown that people who devote their lives to service and action slow the aging process. Here are some examples:
At 93, George Bernard Shaw wrote the play, Farfetched Fables
At 90, Pablo Picasso was producing drawings and engravings
At 89, Mary Baker Eddy directed the Christian Science Church
At 89, Bob Hope finished a world tour for the USO
At 89, Albert Schweitzer headed a hospital in Africa
At 82, Winston Churchill wrote A History of the English Speaking Peoples
At 81, Goethe finished his play, Faust
